As a Biocide, our CANNICUR & PRO-55 (HOCI) is an Organic product that keeps crops fresh, healthy; it preserves the nutrients and promotes root growth while also killing all harmful pathogens, fungus, molds, mildews and pests. (i.e. can kill all types of mites, thrips, aphids, fungus gnats, flies, slugs, mosquitoes, ants, fleas and spiders.) It oxidizes the pests, causing death and through natural chemistry explodes the bacteria / pathogen’s spore wall on contact and does not allow any bacteria to become immune or turn into a super bug. Hypochlorous acid can also kill powdery mildew and mold and doesn’t leave any chemical residue. No rinsing is necessary.

• HOCI is approved by the FDA, USDA, USDA Organic and is also OFIRI Listed for use on plants, in watering systems and post-harvest application on organic foods, so it is absolutely safe for use in any farm or meat processing facility. It can even be used as a wound care agent for poultry of all shapes and sizes.
• The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service Directive 7120.1 “Safe and Suitable Ingredients Used in the Production of Meat and Poultry Products,” has approved the use as a food additive for use on meat and poultry products. It is allowed for use on red meat carcasses down to a quarter of a carcass, i whole or eviscerated poultry carcasses, in water used in meat and poultry. processing, in poultry chiller water, for reprocessing contaminated poultry carcasses, on giblets and salvaged parts, and on primal cuts of beef. • It can also be used as an ingredient in an antimicrobial pesticide formulation and may be applied to dairy processing equipment, food processing equipment and utensils. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations (21 CFR Part 1/B) permit the use on Mod processing equipment and food contact surfaces. • In addition to sanitizing food contact surfaces it may be used for sanitizing raw fruits and vegetables during the washing or peeling process.

It is best practice to start any new treatment at the lowest recommended strength (typically 50 ppm) and observe the decrease of bacteria, fungus, or mold growth while paying close attention to the leaves of a plant. If the infection declines and the plant leaves continue to look healthy, the dose is adequate, and treatment may continue at the current concentration. If the infection shows no reduction and the leaves of the plant show no change, the solution concentration may be increased until a reduction of the infection is observed on the plant surface. The product may be applied to infected areas of a plant up to twice per day but should not exceed three per day. If the leaves begin to change color and wilt, stop treatment for at least one day or use a lower ppm solution. In some cases, with difficult bacteria, fungus, or mold, it will be necessary to use a more concentrated and more frequent treatment to eliminate the infection. The recommended doses found below have been tested on most plants with most infections, but the strength of a plant and the strength of an infection will always overrule test studies because each case may vary. In all applications, once the infection has been removed from an infected plant, maintenance doses one to two times a week are recommended to make sure the infection is dead and cannot regenerate from the soil or airborne pathogens. It is also good practice to spray each plant or tree in close proximity to the infected plant to ensure the bacteria, fungus, or mold will not spread. Once the product has proven effective at eliminating infections, spraying the entire crop on a regular basis such as once to twice per week is recommended to maintain good crop health.

One 1.4-gram ta. et + One ga on o water = r.200 ppm so ution Adjust the concentration of the solution in the 1-quart spray bottle by combining the r.200 ppm solution with additional fresh water as follows: 1/2 fresh water + 1/2 HOCL n,200 ppm solution = n400 ppm HOCL solution 3/4 fresh water + 1/4 HOCL ni200 ppm solution = nJ50 ppm HOCL solution.

Most green leaf plants can handle a 100-ppm solution once per day but most bacteria, and some fungi, can be eliminated with a 50-ppm solution sprayed directly onto the infected area once per day. Most test studies showed the best results were achieved by spraying the infected area twice per day, then spraying the entire plant with the same solution once per day or once every other day.

Other stronger fungi and molds will require a higher dose such as 100 ppm or 200 ppm once or twice per day. When dealing with stronger solutions such as 200 ppm it is important to focus strictly on the infected areas and only spray the entire plant or tree with the lower concentration each day.

Pay close attention to plant leaves and color of the growth. This will help determine the strength and frequency a particular crop can handle. In most studies, hardier robust plant growth such as trees, lettuce, tomatoes, and shrubs can easily handle up to 400ppm directly on infected areas where some more delicate plants such as strawberries and grapes can start to be affected by a treatment with anything over 100 ppm.

The key is to eliminate an infection as quickly and efficiently as possible without negatively impacting the health of a plant. Then maintain health by spraying the entire plant, tree, or crop with a lower concentration solution to make sure infections are eliminated in their infancy stages before they have a chance to attach as biofilm to the plant or tree.
